Lurene Reck, Franchise Owner
Lurene Reck of Midlothian, always imagined owning her own business. While traveling, she spotted an ad for Seniors Helping Seniors in-home care services and knew that this was her chance to help area seniors stay independent.
She signed up immediately to attend an open house for more information, and decided that this was the chance she had been waiting for to fill what she had been missing in her life – the opportunity to help and serve others.
Before settling in Midlothian, Lurene worked in the automotive industry, which gave her the chance to live all over the country – from San Francisco, Chicago, Louisville and Atlanta, to Northern Virginia and now the just south of Richmond. Through her travels she was able to experience different cultures and views on how families care for their loved ones and face the challenges of keeping them safe and comfortable.
Lurene also became a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) through the Society for Certified Senior Advisors, a nationally accredited and recognized organization for professionals working with seniors. This combined with her prior business experience and travel, allows her to ensure that all seniors receive the dignity, respect and fair treatment they deserve as they age.
“I understood the challenges caregiving could bring to a family. It is very important it is to have options, so no family member feels the extra burden and to give families reassurance that their loved one is receiving compassionate care and comfort,” says Lurene.
Professional Experience
Lurene was born and raised in Michigan, where she received a BBA from Western Michigan University. She continued her education at Loyola University at Chicago, receiving her MBA. She spent 26 years working in the corporate world before deciding to take a chance on opening her own business.
She is a proud member of several organizations that serve the Greater Richmond communities. These include the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce, and Chesterfield Council on Aging, Chesterfield Triad, Richmond Senior Network, and RVA Better Aging Forum She attends Journey Christian Church in Midlothian and serves on the production and set-up teams.
